My Challenge is to Run 13 kilometres EVERY DAY FOR 10 DAYS IN 2024

bg my challenge

Run πŸƒ the Master Lap Distance (12.8km) at a different location every day for 10 days.

After seeing Nedd destroying the track at Sydney Olympic Park Athletic Centre and learning of Nedd’s Uncomfortable Challenge I was inspired to spontaneously start my own uncomfortable challenge.Β I am running πŸƒ Nedd’s Master Lap distance (12.8km) at a different location every day for 10 days.Β The maximum distance I have run before this challenge is 12km and that was 15 years ago. The last time I was running was 6 months ago.

I have started before the official start date but hey no time like the present. Starting on Thursday Oct 10, I will finish on Sat Oct 19.Β Let’sΒ raise awareness and support Nedd’s cause, We Are Mobilise, helping people in Australia experiencing homelessness.

My Updates

Day 10 πŸƒ - River Torrens Linear Park, West Beach to Adelaide City, SA (Sat 19 Oct)

Saturday 19th Oct
Day 10, the final grind was back to the roots. 15 years ago I ran my maximum distance of 12km in the City-Bay Fun Run in Adelaide. Today I ran a modified 12.8km scenic version in reverse along the River Torrens starting at West Beach and finishing at the footbridge in front of the SkyCity Casino in Adelaide. A convenient place to finish with a couple beers at the Taphouse! My untrained running body is now ready to rest. The final 5 days were progressively harder and the grind was real. And so it is all done, 10 days of Nedd’s Master Lap 12.8km for Nedd’s Uncomfortable Challenge. Thank you to everyone for your donations to We Are Mobilise, tackling homelessness in Australia. Until next time, β€œKeep showing up! LessGoooo!!!”

Day 9 πŸƒ - Happy Valley Reservoir, SA (Fri 18 Oct)

Friday 18th Oct
A new day, a new location. In South Australia #sagreat today around the Happy Valley Reservoir. A beautiful run with plenty of wildlife 🦘 πŸ¦†. The grind is now real and the body is keen to finish tomorrow. The slower pace reflects the body! One more day πŸ’ͺ LessGoooo!!!

Day 8 πŸƒ - Centennial Park, Sydney (Thurs Oct 17)

Thursday 17th Oct
I completed today’s Master Lap at Nedd’s stomping ground, Centennial Park in Sydney. Another beautiful and peaceful location. The uncomfortable is really kicking in, the hips, knees and shins are feeling the day after day of kms. The grind continues and I’ll keep showing up to get the job done. Yeeewwww πŸ€™!!!

Day 7 πŸƒ - Wollongong, NSW (Wed 16 Oct)

Wednesday 16th Oct
Day 7 completed along Wollongong’s coastline as the sun was setting πŸŒ… . Absolutely gorgeous. The knees are feeling the kms on the back half of this challenge. I’ll keep showing up and will get the job done. Yeeewwww!

Day 6 πŸƒ - Lake Jindabyne, NSW (Tues Oct 15)

Tuesday 15th Oct
Day 6 around Lake Jindabyne today for a mix of paved surface and trail. Played some tactics, dialled back the pace to protect the knee and the body. Let’s get the job done. Yeeeewwww!

Day 5 πŸƒ - Athletics Track Jindabyne, NSW (Mon Oct 14)

Monday 14th Oct
I completed Nedd’s Master Lap at the Athletics Track in Jindabyne for Day 5 today. It absolutely pissed down 🌧️ the entire run πŸƒ!!! It was definitely the hardest run yet. Skippy 🦘 and his mates were in the centre of the track to cheer me on! Yeeewwwww!!!

Day 4 πŸƒ - Hatchery Bay Trail Run, Jindabyne NSW (Sun Oct 13)

Sunday 13th Oct
Tackled a trail run πŸƒ today, Hatchery Bay Trail, on Lake Jindabyne NSW. Nothing but cows πŸ„ and rabbits πŸ‡ to keep me company. Beaauuutiful!!! Off to a great start with the donations. Thank you πŸ™ to everyone who has donated so far. Let’s keep up the momentum! LessGooo!!!

Day 3 πŸƒ - Lake Burley Griffin, Canberra (Sat Oct 12)

Saturday 12th Oct
Day 3 in the bag and on track for daily Master Laps of 12.8km πŸš€ . Another cracking day under blue skies. The body is starting to feel the stiffness, but will keep pushing and smiling 😎 . LessGooo!!

Day 2 πŸƒ - Cronulla, Sydney (Fri Oct 11)

Saturday 12th Oct
Today was a total of 13.06km to make up the daily average to the Master Lap distance of 12.8km. Tomorrow I’ll settle into daily 12.8km πŸƒ πŸ€™ LessGooo!!!

Day 1 πŸƒ - Coogee, Sydney (Thurs Oct 10)

Saturday 12th Oct
This run was before I saw Nedd in the flesh at the track smashing laps πŸ’ͺ πŸ”₯ . It was there I learned about Nedd’s Uncomfortable Challenge and spontaneously decided to get cracking with my own uncomfortable challenge. That is why Day 1 at 12.54km is slightly less than the Master Lap distance.
