My Challenge is to Run 5 kilometres EVERY DAY FOR 10 DAYS IN 2024

bg my challenge

My challenge is uncomfortable for me because...

It pushes me out of my comfort zone, just like Nedd’s journey inspires us all to do. I'm stepping up to this challenge to not only grow personally but also to raise awareness and support for We Are Mobilise, helping people in Australia experiencing homelessness.

My Updates

Day 10 - we made it 💪🏼

Wednesday 30th Oct
What better way to finish Nedds Uncomfortable Challenge than a 10km run. I was joined by my Dad and partner for the last couple kms to help me get over the line! Feelings of euphoria were through the roof at the completion of my 10th day. I would like to say a massive thank you to each and every one of you that has supported me along the way. Your donations towards this cause have been out of this world!! 🙌❤️ P.S. beers are tasting very good

Day 9 - one to go 🤘🏽

Tuesday 29th Oct
The human body is so impressive! Nine days in, I thought I’d be in all sorts of pain and discomfort but surprisingly I feel better now than I did on day 3. Can’t wait for the emotions of my last run tomorrow and the completion of this amazing fundraiser. KEEP SHOWING UP 🏃💪🏼

Day 8 - ft. Brother in-law

Monday 28th Oct
Joined by a special guest this afternoon. With Jake beginning his training for a Marathon, this was an absolute breeze for him. Nonetheless it was good to talk some shit with someone on today’s run, time flew by 🏃

Day 7 - mind games 😰

Monday 28th Oct
Thought I’d punch out a morning run before cricket. Knee still hadn’t recovered from last nights session, but found a way to push through 💪🏼

Day 6 baby 💪🏼

Friday 25th Oct
Today was a little different. I started my run in Nuriootpa and 5kms down the road, in Tanunda, I was greeted by my very supportive girlfriend handing me a much needed drink of H2O. On to day 7 🏃

Day 5 - Half way mark! 💪🏼

Thursday 24th Oct
Time flys when you’re having fun. Runs are getting easier and easier despite a right knee that’s bone on bone. Nothing ice and anti-inflammatories can’t fix right? As the great man once said ‘no one has died from a sore knee’.

Day 4 - Early bird gets the worm 🌅

Wednesday 23rd Oct
A day off work called for an early morning run. Alarm set for 5.30am, throw the shoes on, and I’m off. Morning runs just hit different, it feels like you are stealing hours of the day that aren’t yours. Almost half way there, keep those donations coming 💪🏼❤️

Day 3 - still going strong 💪🏼

Tuesday 22nd Oct
This time round I ran my normal local loop. Conditions were in my favour today with a nice cool breeze to dry the sweat beading down my forehead. The biggest struggle now is the work/run combination, which I’m sure most of you can relate to. The last thing I feel like doing after a long day at work is come home and run my arse off for half an hour, but that’s what this is all about. Getting out of my comfort zone, being uncomfortable and raising awareness of the issues and impacts affecting Australian’s who are experiencing homelessness.

Day 2 🏃☀️

Monday 21st Oct
Certainly not as picturesque today but still 5kms in the bag. Thought I’d have a micro taste of what it must have been like for Nedd, running round and round in circles. Everyday I grow a larger sense of respect and admiration for that legend. I honestly can’t comprehend how it’s even possible to run 100km+ a day

Day 1 - 5kms ✅

Sunday 20th Oct
No better way to kick it off than a run along the esplanade. Moana turned it on, sun was out and not a breath of wind. Followed by a swim to help deflate the swollen joints. (First game of cricket yesterday ruined me)

Preparation run 🏃

Friday 18th Oct
I thought I’d better get some run in the legs before Sunday. 2.5kms yesterday followed by another 3kms today, safe to say I needed some preparation! So keen to get into it! Keep the donations coming guys, I appreciate it more then you know 💪🏼
