Day 10 is done - 50km in the books

Tuesday 29th Oct Day 10 is done!!! Today was by far the hardest. Shoulders were making a lot of weird noises and legs were cramping. Had my friends Olivia join me for today’s early morning and I’m so happy she came I really needed the push towards the end. Props to her too for keeping up So so happy that I have been able to finish, had enough of an adrenaline boost to finish my 50km with 50m of butterfly!! Share

Day 9 is done!!

Monday 28th Oct This was definitely the hardest day so far but only one day left!!! I got my lucky lane number today though so that’s something Share

Day 8 was an odd one.

Sunday 27th Oct Was a little bit dumb today and thought I would go for an afternoon swim, not realising most pools in Townsville shut before 2pm. So I found a pool that was open, it was 25m but I didn’t mind. When I got there I’d dint have too much time before it closed (turns out they were closing early that day) so I thought I would just do the 5km in one go to save some time and challenge myself. I’m about 3km in and I hear a loud whistle, it’s the lifeguard trying to get my attention. She asks me what I’m doing and I tell her dumbly “I’m swimming laps?” She explained to me that according to her I had been swimming WAYYY too long and that it was not safe. I was a bit confused as it had only been 45 min and I’m always in pools a lot longer. I explained I was doing a 5km swim and she said she “couldn’t allow it” as she did not know my swimming ability. You would think that after watching me swim 3km in decent time she would have had a gauge of my ability. Anyway after a bit of back and forth she agreed to let me stay in the water but only if I kept my head up? so that she knew I was getting enough oxygen. That meant the last 2km of my swim was kick…. Not much fun, but hey, we got there. Share

Day 7 done!!

Sunday 27th Oct Not the biggest fan of 25m pools but this is the only pool in Townsville with shade and I am already 5 shades darker than when I started a week ago Share

Day 6 is done!!

Sunday 27th Oct Went to a 25m pool today especially for this set I found. Thought it would be fun. I was wrong. Legs were cramping so bad towards the end, turned into more of a pull set Share
