My Challenge is to Run 20 kilometres EVERY DAY FOR 10 DAYS IN 2024

bg my challenge

My challenge is uncomfortable for me because...

It pushes me out of my comfort zone, just like Nedd’s journey inspires us all to do. I'm stepping up to this challenge to not only grow personally but also to raise awareness and support for We Are Mobilise, helping people in Australia experiencing homelessness.

My Updates

Day 10 completed another 20klm ✅ - Total 200klm

Tuesday 29th Oct
Made it through to day 10, I finally got comfortable being uncomfortable.
200klms didn’t seem to hard when I first looked at this challenge, but after day 3 I knew it was going to be harder than expected, my left knee was sore and I thought I was done. Welcome to being uncomfortable Russ, just keep pushing i thought and that I did, glad I didn’t stop, even though I did walk in some of my runs.

Day 9 Done, another 20klms ✅

Monday 28th Oct
Struggled early as my knee just took a long time to get warmed up (10ks) then it freed up for a while but got sore again later in the run. Happy to have gotten this far, bring on tomorrow 💪🏼

Day 8 completed another 20klms for a total of 160

Sunday 27th Oct
Got smart and ran around the football ovals which allowed me to run sort of pain free.
Todays run was the best I’ve felt for days 💪🏼

Day 7 another 20klms ✅

Saturday 26th Oct
Thought I would have been able too run a lot more today, but no my left knee is not really liking the landing component of running, walking is fine…… running is like someone is sticking a knife into the side of my knee every time I land, anyway another 20 tomorrow, bring it on.

Day 6 - 20klm ✅

Friday 25th Oct
Started with walking but slowly got back into a slow trot,  once I warmed up I could jog more than walk, hopefully the same for tomorrow.

Day 5 completed- Half way mark 100klm to go

Thursday 24th Oct
Half way through my challenge of running 20klms each day for 10 days.
Day 1 easy
Day 2, sweet
Day 3 Struggled and left knee starts to hurt
Day 4 Walked as my knee said no to running
Day 5 Walked and ran, feeling ok but my knee is sore but manageable

Day 3 struggle ✅ Day 4 slow but also ✅

Wednesday 23rd Oct

Day 2 ✅

Monday 21st Oct
15klms earlier today and just knocked off another 5ks - 20 ✅
